你信神只有一位，你信的不错；就连鬼魔也信，却是战兢。愚昧的人哪，你愿意知道没有行为的信心是没有用的吗？

因为在基督耶稣里，受割礼或不受割礼，都没有用处，唯有那藉着爱表达出来的信，才有用处。

照样，那撒在石地上的，就是人听了道，立刻欢欢喜喜地接受了；可是他们里面没有根，只是暂时的；一旦为道遭遇患难，受到迫害，就立刻跌倒了。

虽然这样，官长当中也有许多人信了耶稣。但是因为法利赛人的缘故，他们不敢公开承认，免得被赶出会堂；因为他们爱来自人的荣耀，过于爱来自神的荣耀。

犹太人的逾越节近了，耶稣就上耶路撒冷去。
