Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life. Anyone who does not believe in the Son will not have life. God’s anger remains on them.”

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

予切實告爾、人能聽從吾言、而信仰遣予來者、莫不享受永生、而免譴責、蓋已出死而入生矣。

凡納之者。厥名是信。授以權能。超凡入聖。天主兒女。

勿為浮言所惑、蓋天主義怒之臨於悖逆諸子、正為此耳。

俾信之者、得免淪亡、而獲永生。夫天主不惜以其惟一聖子賜之於世、俾凡信之者、得免淪亡、而獲永生、是其愛世之篤、為何如乎？

蓋天主之恩召、非欲吾人嬰其震怒、乃欲吾人因吾主耶穌基督而沾溉救恩。

蓋天主之正義、已藉福音而啟示矣。此正義乃肇於信德、而成於信德者也。經曰：『惟義者憑信德而生、』此之謂也。且天主之譴怒、實未嘗不自天而顯、用警悖逆、不義、以邪惡阻塞天理之人。

且吾人賴基督之聖血、既得赦罪而成義、不更能賴之以望免刑乎？

耶穌應之曰：『我切實語爾、人非重生不得見天主國。』

須知吾輩已因實行友愛之道、而出死入生，而彼不具愛德者、則依然未脫死域也。凡嫉惡其兄弟、罪同殺人；而殺人者、其無永生存乎其身、可知矣。

予剴切告爾、人守吾道、永不嘗死亡之味。』

凡懦怯無志、狐疑不信、放僻邪侈、殺人縱淫、妖術惑眾、崇拜偶像、荒誕無稽之徒、皆當投入硫火池中；是為二次之死。」

以待其聖子耶穌之臨格。聖子者、即天主所起於死者之中、而令吾人免於將臨之譴怒者也。

予賜以永生、終無淪亡之虞、亦無能奪自予手。

而乞靈於山石曰：「其速覆吾身、掩吾人於居寶座者之顏、與羔羊之怒；蓋其譴怒之日已臨、其誰能當之。」

惟彼聖民。慈主所憶。求主憐我。廁彼之列。惠然來臨。賜以拔擢。俾我親沾。天民之福。俾我同享。帝族之樂。爾國發榮。吾心乃足。

何況蹂躪天主聖子、輕慢聖德所本之盟血、褻瀆恩寵所自之聖神、爾謂其所當受之刑罰、更堪設想乎！

凡心與耶穌基督相契合者、無所為罪；

況辜負偌大之救恩、其能僥倖於萬一耶？此救恩自始為主所親傳、而親炙之者又為吾人闡述、鑿鑿有據；

若夫徒恃律法者、則實處於咒咀之下。經不云乎：『凡不遵行律法之一切規定者、應服咒詛。』

世人咸庇卵翼下。安居大宅飫肥鮮。主復飲以靈川水。在主身邊有活泉。

心悅誠服以順命兮。免天帝之震怒。何苦自取滅亡兮。自絕於康莊之大路。須知惟有委順兮。能邀無窮之福祚。

夫法者、刑戮之器也；法之不存、何犯之有。

蓋吾人之得救也、實有恃乎望德；然已見之望、非望也；夫人於目前之事、亦何所用其望乎？正惟不見、故渴望之、且堅忍熱烈而期待之也。

一生圖安樂。人謂善求福。

普天之下、血氣之倫、咸將親睹、天主救恩！」

予切實告爾、信者得永生、予實生命之糧。爾祖昔在曠野得食瑪納、然而死矣！惟食茲天糧者、得不死。予乃降自天上之活糧、食此糧者必享永生。予所賜之糧、即予軀體、捐以活世。』猶太人互相爭論曰：『斯人亦焉能以其軀體食吾人乎？』耶穌又謂之曰：『予切實告爾、爾苟不食人子之體而飲其血、則爾不具生命。

既見救恩、我心則慰
