The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you— they are full of the Spirit and life.

having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And so it is written,“ The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

But what does it say?“ The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”( that is, the word of faith which we preach):that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious?

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

There is also an antitype which now saves us— baptism( not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.

What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision?Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

But as it is written:“ Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
