有几个法利赛人说：“那个人不是从神那里来的，因为他不守安息日。”另外有些人说：“一个罪人怎能行这样的神迹呢？”他们就起了纷争。

法利赛人说：“连你们也受了欺骗吗？

法利赛人听见群众纷纷议论这些关于耶稣的事，祭司长和法利赛人就派差役去逮捕耶稣。

当时，有些耶路撒冷人说：“这不是他们想要杀的人吗？你看，他还在公开地讲话，竟然没有人对他说什么，难道官长们真的认为这个人就是基督吗？可是我们知道这个人是从哪里来的，只是基督来的时候，没有人知道他是从哪里来的！”

无论作什么，都不要发怨言、起争论，

有一个人名叫约瑟，是个议员，为人良善公义，

他们想要逮捕他，但又怕群众，因为他们都认为耶稣是先知。

百夫长看见所发生的事，就颂赞神，说：“这真是个义人！”

“大人，我们想起那个骗子，生前说过：‘三天之后，我要复活。’

学生若能像老师一样，奴仆若能像主人一样，也就够了。如果一家之主也被称为别西卜﹙“别西卜”是鬼王的名字。﹚，何况他的家人呢？

众人都惊惧，颂赞神说：“有伟大的先知在我们中间兴起来了！”又说：“神眷顾他的子民了！”

耶稣来到该撒利亚．腓立比的地区，就问自己的门徒：“人说人子是谁？”他们回答：“有人说是施洗的约翰，有人说是以利亚，也有人说是耶利米，或是先知里的一位。”他问他们：“你们说我是谁？”西门．彼得回答：“你是基督，是永生神的儿子。”

良善的人从心中所存的良善发出良善，邪恶的人从心中所存的邪恶发出邪恶；因为心中所充满的，口里就说出来。

耶稣对他说：“你为什么称我是良善的呢？除了神一位以外，没有良善的。

巴拿巴是个好人，满有圣灵和信心，于是许多人归了主。

他们回答：“你也是从加利利出来的吗？你去考查一下，就知道先知是不会从加利利兴起的。”

犹太人因着这些话又起了纷争。他们当中有许多人说：“他是鬼附的，他发疯了；为什么要听他呢？”另外有人说：“这话不是鬼附的人所说的。鬼怎能使瞎子的眼睛开了呢？”

为义人死，是少有的；为好人死，或有敢作的；

众人看见耶稣所行的神迹，就说：“这真是那要到世上来的先知。”
