爾若擊之、喪其貨財、必立詛爾。

今爾且降之以災、使喪其所有、原文作今爾且伸手擊其所有則必面詛詛或作毀謗爾、

“ Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends, For the hand of God has struck me!

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.

So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. Therefore the anger of the Lord is aroused against His people; He has stretched out His hand against them And stricken them, And the hills trembled. Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.

And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

So Abimelech charged all his people, saying,“ He who touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”

Then his wife said to him,“ Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!”

And the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Saying,“ Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”
