人因惡者之驕侈而呼籲、而莫之應、

即有其人、因其驕侈、雖呼莫應。

雖因惡人之兇暴而號呼、天主亦不應允、或作彼雖號呼天主不應允因惡人驕傲

He does not answer when people cry out because of the arrogance of the wicked.

He doesn’t answer sinful people when they cry out to him. That’s because they are so proud.

There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.

And when they cry out, God does not answer because of their pride.

We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God, and does his will, he listens to him.

Have mercy on us, Yahweh, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt.Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will make myself like the Most High!”Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit.Those who see you will stare at you. They will ponder you, saying,“ Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,who made the world like a wilderness, and overthrew its cities, who didn’t release his prisoners to their home?”

They cried, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.

Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
