Look up at the heavens and see; gaze at the clouds so high above you.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

“ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

Behold, even the moon is not bright, and the stars are not pure in his eyes;how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!”

It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.

Behold, God is great, and we know him not; the number of his years is unsearchable.For he draws up the drops of water; they distill his mist in rain,which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly.Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion?Behold, he scatters his lightning about him and covers the roots of the sea.For by these he judges peoples; he gives food in abundance.He covers his hands with the lightning and commands it to strike the mark.Its crashing declares his presence; the cattle also declare that he rises.“ At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place.Keep listening to the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth.Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard.God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.

Out of the north comes golden splendor; God is clothed with awesome majesty.The Almighty— we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.

Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge,

And he brought him outside and said,“ Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him,“ So shall your offspring be.”
