我民、爾當哀哭、若少女幼年嫁夫、夫沒、腰間繫麻、為夫哀哭、或作我民爾當哀哭如貞女腰間繫麻哀哭幼年所嫁之夫

Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the betrothed of her youth.

My people, mourn like a virgin who is dressed in the clothes of sadness. She is sad because she has lost the young man she was going to marry.

Lament like a virgin wearing sackcloth for the bridegroom of her youth.

Weep like a bride dressed in black, mourning the death of her husband.

Grieve like a young woman dressed in sackcloth, mourning for the husband of her youth.

Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth For the husband of her youth.

Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

Grieve like a young woman dressed in sackcloth, mourning for the husband of her youth.

Therefore on that day the Lord God of armies called you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head, and to wearing sackcloth.

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ Consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; And send for the skillful women, that they may come!Have them hurry and take up a wailing for us, So that our eyes may shed tears, And our eyelids flow with water.For a voice of wailing is heard from Zion:‘ How devastated we are! We are put to great shame, For we have abandoned the land Because they have torn down our homes.’ ”

The new wine mourns, The vine decays, All the joyful hearted sigh.The joy of tambourines ceases, The noise of revelers stops, The joy of the harp ceases.They do not drink wine with song; Intoxicating drink is bitter to those who drink it.The city of chaos is broken down; Every house is shut up so that no one may enter.There is an outcry in the streets concerning the wine; All joy turns to gloom. The joy of the earth is banished.Desolation is left in the city And the gate is battered to ruins.

Put on sackcloth And mourn, you priests; Wail, you ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, You ministers of my God, For the grain offering and the drink offering Have been withheld from the house of your God.Consecrate a fast, Proclaim a solemn assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land To the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.Woe for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, And it will come as destruction from the Almighty.

Who leaves the companion of her youth And forgets the covenant of her God;

Have you not just now called to Me,‘ My Father, You are the friend of my youth?

But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And why the one? He was seeking a godly offspring. Be careful then about your spirit, and see that none of you deals treacherously against the wife of your youth.

Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.Be miserable, and mourn, and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into gloom.

Then I will turn your festivals into mourning, And all your songs into songs of mourning; And I will put sackcloth around everyone’s waist, And baldness on every head. And I will make it like a time of mourning for an only son, And the end of it will be like a bitter day.

Come now, you rich people, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you.

Tremble, you women who are at ease; Be troubled, you complacent daughters; Strip, undress, and put sackcloth on your waist,

“ Yet even now,” declares the Lord,“ Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning;And tear your heart and not merely your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in mercy And relenting of catastrophe.Who knows, He might turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him, Resulting in a grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God.
