我必以旋风吹散他们到素不认识的万国中。这样，他们的地就荒凉，甚至无人来往经过，因为他们使美好之地荒凉了。”

耶和华啊，我向你求告，因为火烧灭旷野的草场；火焰烧尽田野的树木。田野的走兽向你发喘；因为溪水干涸，火也烧灭旷野的草场。

因为这蝗虫遮满地面，甚至地都黑暗了，又吃地上一切的菜蔬和冰雹所剩树上的果子。埃及遍地，无论是树木，是田间的菜蔬，连一点青的也没有留下。

我们的神要来，决不闭口。有烈火在他面前吞灭；有暴风在他四围大刮。

神园中的香柏树不能遮蔽它；松树不及它的枝子；枫树不及它的枝条；神园中的树都没有它荣美。我使它的枝条蕃多，成为荣美，以致神伊甸园中的树都嫉妒它。”

罗得举目看见约旦河的全平原，直到琐珥，都是滋润的，那地在耶和华未灭所多玛、蛾摩拉以先如同耶和华的园子，也像埃及地。

他说一声，就有蝗虫蚂蚱上来，不计其数，吃尽了他们地上各样的菜蔬和田地的出产。

他们必吃尽你的庄稼和你的粮食，是你儿女该吃的；必吃尽你的牛羊，吃尽你的葡萄和无花果；又必用刀毁坏你所倚靠的坚固城。”

剪虫剩下的，蝗虫来吃；蝗虫剩下的，蝻子来吃；蝻子剩下的，蚂蚱来吃。酒醉的人哪，要清醒哭泣；好酒的人哪，都要为甜酒哀号，因为从你们的口中断绝了。有一队蝗虫又强盛又无数，侵犯我的地；它的牙齿如狮子的牙齿，大牙如母狮的大牙。它毁坏我的葡萄树，剥了我无花果树的皮，剥尽而丢弃，使枝条露白。

主耶和华又指示我一件事：他命火来惩罚以色列，火就吞灭深渊，险些将地烧灭。
