“ Moses my servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them— to the Israelites.

“ My servant Moses is dead. Now then, I want you and all these people to get ready to go across the Jordan River. I want all of you to go into the land I am about to give to the Israelites.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.

“ Moses My servant is dead; so now arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.

“ Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them— the children of Israel.

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

“ Moses My servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Get ready! Cross the Jordan River! Lead these people into the land which I am ready to hand over to them.

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.

But commission Joshua and encourage and strengthen him, for he will cross over ahead of the people and enable them to inherit this land that you will see.’

“ Go through the camp and tell the people,‘ Get provisions ready for yourselves, for within three days you will be crossing the Jordan to go in and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you to inherit.’”

“ This is my servant; I strengthen him, this is my chosen one; I delight in him. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice to the nations.

Moses then summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel,“ Be strong and courageous, for you will go with this people into the land the LORD swore to give to their ancestors. You will enable them to take possession of it.

After the death of Moses the LORD’s servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’s assistant:

“ May the LORD, the God who gives breath to all, appoint a man over the communitywho will go out before them and come back in before them, and who will bring them out and bring them in, so that the LORD’s community won’t be like sheep without a shepherd.”The LORD replied to Moses,“ Take Joshua son of Nun, a man who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.Have him stand before the priest Eleazar and the whole community, and commission him in their sight.Confer some of your authority on him so that the entire Israelite community will obey him.He will stand before the priest Eleazar who will consult the LORD for him with the decision of the Urim. He and all the Israelites with him, even the entire community, will go out and come back in at his command.”

Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future.But Christ was faithful as a Son over his household. And we are that household if we hold on to our confidence and the hope in which we boast.

Now many have become Levitical priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office.But because he remains forever, he holds his priesthood permanently.
