现在愿将他的子孙七人交给我们，我们好在耶和华面前，将他们悬挂在耶和华拣选扫罗的基比亚。”王说：“我必交给你们。”

基督既为我们受了咒诅，就赎出我们脱离律法的咒诅；因为经上记着：“凡挂在木头上都是被咒诅的。”

“人若犯该死的罪，被治死了，你将他挂在木头上，他的尸首不可留在木头上过夜，必要当日将他葬埋，免得玷污了耶和华你神所赐你为业之地。因为被挂的人是在神面前受咒诅的。

伺候王的一个太监名叫哈波拿，说：“哈曼为那救王有功的末底改做了五丈高的木架，现今立在哈曼家里。”王说：“把哈曼挂在其上。”于是人将哈曼挂在他为末底改所预备的木架上。王的忿怒这才止息。

交在基遍人的手里。基遍人就把他们，在耶和华面前，悬挂在山上，这七人就一同死亡。被杀的时候正是收割的日子，就是动手割大麦的时候。

众人都回答说：“他的血归到我们和我们的子孙身上。”

究察这事，果然是实，就把二人挂在木头上，将这事在王面前写于历史上。
