你们夺了城以后，要放火烧城，照耶和华的话去做。看，这是我吩咐你们的。”

他们回答约书亚说：“因为确实有人告诉你的仆人，耶和华—你的上帝曾吩咐他的仆人摩西，把这全地赐给你们，并要在你们面前除灭这地所有的居民。我们因你们的缘故很怕自己丧命，就做了这事。

耶和华将拉吉交在以色列人的手里。第二日约书亚就夺了拉吉，用刀击杀了城中所有的人，正如他向立拿一切所做的。
