他又把艾城的王悬在树上，直到黄昏的时候；日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把尸体从树上拿下来，丢在城门口那里，又在尸体上堆起了一大堆石头，这堆石头一直存到今日。

约书亚和全体以色列人一起把谢拉的曾孙亚干和那银子、那件衣服、那金条，以及亚干的儿女、牛、驴、羊、帐棚和他所有的一切，都带上亚割谷去。

他们把押沙龙的尸体抬起来，丢在树林中的一个大坑里，又在上面堆起一大堆石头。以色列众人都逃跑，各回自己的家去了。

他们把我投在坑中要结束我的性命，又把石头抛在我身上；

你们要向耶路撒冷说慈爱的话，又要向它宣告：他们的苦难已经满足了，他们的罪孽已经还清了，他们因着自己的一切罪，已经从耶和华的手里受到过重的刑罚。”

于是耶和华为了自己的地发热心，怜恤他的子民。

你们要撕裂你们的心肠，不要撕裂你们的衣服。并要归向耶和华你们的神，因为他有恩典有怜悯，不轻易发怒，并且有丰盛的慈爱，随时转意不降灾祸。

他又呼唤我，对我说：“你看，那些出来往北方之地去的，已经在北方之地使我心灵的忿怒平息下来。”

尼哥德慕说：“怎能有这事呢？”耶稣说：“你是以色列人的教师，还不明白这事吗？

他们把扫罗和他儿子约拿单的骸骨埋葬在便雅悯地的洗拉，在扫罗父亲基士的坟墓里。王所吩咐的一切，众人都行了。这事以后，神垂听了人们为那地的祷告。

到了日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把他们从树上取下来，丢在他们躲藏过的洞里，把几块大石头放在洞口；这些石头一直存到今日。
