Then they went to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal and said to him and the Israelites,“ We have come from a distant country; make a treaty with us.”

先知以賽亞見希西家王曰、此人奚自、與爾何言。希西家曰、來自遠方、即巴比倫、

對曰、僕所自來、其地甚遠、我儕聞爾上帝耶和華之名、知其所行於埃及、

如有賓旅、不屬於以色列族、聞爾名譽、知爾大能巨力、自遠方來、至於斯殿、祈求於爾、

約書亞遂率以色列眾歸吉甲營。

如以和相應、自啟邑門、則彼邑民、必入貢而服事爾、如不欲和、乃必欲戰、則爾可迫而攻之、迨爾上帝耶和華付於爾手、以刃擊諸丁男、奪其妻孥牲畜、與邑中所有之貨財、爾上帝耶和華、以敵所有錫爾、爾可得之。凡邑離爾甚遠、不屬於斯土者、爾必待之如是。
