For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.

You will leave the land. It will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies deserted because you are not there. You will pay for your sins because you said no to my laws. You turned away from my rules.

But the land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes.

For the land must be abandoned to enjoy its years of Sabbath rest as it lies deserted. At last the people will pay for their sins, for they have continually rejected my regulations and despised my decrees.

For the land abandoned by them will make up for its Sabbaths by lying desolate without the people, while they make amends for their iniquity, because they rejected my ordinances and abhorred my statutes.

棄我典章、蔑我律例、違我誡命、背我盟約、

蓋形軀之志、敵乎上帝、以其不服上帝律、且不能服也、

我之受難、乃為我益、使我學爾典章兮、

督責於邑門者、爾憎之、言正直者、亦惡之、

我拂逆之、散之敵國、緣其不潔之心、自卑服罪、

一月之間、我絕三牧、蓋我心厭彼、彼心憾我也、

既遭患難、則求其上帝耶和華、在其列祖之上帝前、自卑維甚、

世不能惡爾而惡我、以我證其惡行也、

耶和華歟、我知爾讞乃義、爾之苦我、由於信實兮、

我既被轉、後則悛改、我受教而拊髀、緣負幼時之辱、含羞抱愧、

有誰謂上帝曰、我既受責、不再犯罪、我所不明、請爾示我、若曾行惡、不復為之、

患難之日、爾當籲我、我必援爾、爾亦榮我兮、○

我未受苦之先、曾入歧路、今守爾言兮、

上帝所懲者有福、故全能者之譴責、爾勿輕視、

故耶和華顧視、而降此災於我、蓋我上帝耶和華所行、無不公義、惟我不聽其言、

主歟、惟爾為義、我則蒙羞、有如今日、猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因其獲罪於爾、或遠或近、被驅至於諸國、主歟、我與我之君王、牧伯列祖、因獲罪於爾、俱蒙羞恥、我主我上帝、恆懷矜憫赦宥、而我儕悖逆之、

此因以色列人獲罪於其上帝耶和華、即導之出埃及、脫於埃及王法老手者、彼乃寅畏他神、循耶和華於以色列人前、所逐異族之例、及以色列諸王所立之例、以色列人私行不正之事、背逆其上帝耶和華、於其諸邑、自戍樓至堅城、建築崇邱、在山岡之上、綠樹之下、立柱像與木偶、焚香於諸崇邱、效耶和華於其前所逐之異族、行諸惡事、激耶和華之怒、崇事偶像、即耶和華所言不可為者、耶和華藉諸先知先見、戒以色列與猶大人曰、當轉離爾之惡途、守我誡命典章、循我所命爾列祖、及藉我僕眾先知授爾之法、惟彼弗聽、強項不馴、如其不信厥上帝耶和華之列祖、違棄上帝之典章、及與其列祖所立之約、並戒之之言、從虛無而變為虛妄、效四周異邦、即耶和華所命勿效之者、違棄其上帝耶和華一切誡命、鑄二犢像、製造木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、使其子女經火、用卜筮邪術、自鬻而行耶和華所惡、以激其怒、

實則厭我訓誨、委我言於後兮、

又忘勸爾之言、如諭子曰、吾子乎、主懲爾、勿輕視、受其譴、勿喪志、蓋主所愛者懲之、所納之子扑之、爾之忍乃為受懲、上帝待爾如子矣、焉有子而父不懲之者乎、夫懲眾所共也、而爾無之、則為私生、而非子矣、且我生身之父懲我、我尚敬之、況諸神之父、不更宜服之以得生乎、彼乃暫依己意而懲、惟此則為我之益、使我與其聖也、凡懲之之時、似非樂、而為憂、後則由懲生練而結和平之果、即義也、

夫人未有不干罪者、若爾民獲罪於爾、因爾震怒、付之於敵、虜至其地、或遠或近、如在虜至之地、思念改悔、懇求於爾曰、我儕犯罪、悖逆作惡、在敵人虜者之地、一心一意歸爾、向其故土、爾所錫其列祖者、與爾所簡之邑、及我為爾名所建之室、祈禱於爾、

耶和華歟、彼於難中尋求爾、受爾懲罰、則奉祈禱、

惡我者、亦惡我父、我若於其中未行人所未行者、彼則無罪、今彼於我及父、且見且惡矣、

爾既寓於敵國、斯土荒寂、其壤則閒、而享安息、地既荒寂、必享安息、爾居斯土、其壤所未獲之安息、此時必得享之、

我亦毀爾崇邱、斫爾日像、以爾尸骸、擲於偶像之上、我心必厭惡爾、

且諸祭司長與民眾、大干罪戾、從異邦可憎之事、污耶和華在耶路撒冷區別為聖之室、其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜恤其民、與其居所、夙興遣使以戒之、惟彼訕笑上帝之使、藐視其言、譏其先知、致耶和華之怒及於其民、無可救治、
