For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.

You will leave the land. It will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies deserted because you are not there. You will pay for your sins because you said no to my laws. You turned away from my rules.

But the land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes.

For the land must be abandoned to enjoy its years of Sabbath rest as it lies deserted. At last the people will pay for their sins, for they have continually rejected my regulations and despised my decrees.

For the land abandoned by them will make up for its Sabbaths by lying desolate without the people, while they make amends for their iniquity, because they rejected my ordinances and abhorred my statutes.

藐視我之律例、心厭我之法度、不遵我諸誡命而違我約、

體肉體、乃與天主為仇、因不服天主之法、且不能服也、

我遭苦難、於我有益、因使我學習主之典章、

於邑門邑門或作公庭責人者、斯民憾之、以正而言者、以正而言者或作言正直者為彼所厭、

我依其逆行、散之於敵國、後若其剛愎之心、剛愎之心或作不淨之心自卑以服罪、

一月之間、我絕三牧、我心厭之、其心亦棄我、

瑪拿西於患難中禱主其天主、在列祖之天主前、極其自卑、

世不能惡爾、乃惡我、以我證其所行者惡也、

主歟、我知主之判斷至公義、主使我受苦、亦待我以誠實、

悛改之後、我甚悔於心、受教之後、自搥己髀、自覺愧怍羞慚、因幼時之罪、受辱蒙恥、

爾當告天主曰、我既受責、不敢再犯、我所不知、求主指示、我若曾行惡、後必不復行、

爾在患難時禱告我、我必救爾、爾當尊奉我、

我未受苦之先、誤行錯路、今我遵守主言、

天主所懲者、是人有福、全能者譴責爾、爾毋輕視、

我既不聽從主命、主屢降災於我、主我之天主所為、至公至義、

猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、主歟、我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖獲罪於主、面蒙羞愧、我儕雖悖逆主我之天主、主仍矜憫赦宥、

此因以色列人獲罪於主其天主、天主昔導之出伊及、脫於伊及王法老之手、彼反敬畏他神、昔主於以色列人前、逐異族之民、以色列人乃從其習俗、亦從以色列王擅設之陋規、以色列人私行非法、背逆主其天主、自戍樓以及鞏固之城、各處建築邱壇、在各高岡上、各茂樹下、立柱像與亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶在諸邱壇上焚香、效主在其前所逐異族之民、行諸惡事、干犯主怒、主曾禁之曰、勿拜偶像、而彼反拜之、主藉諸先知與諸先見、警戒以色列人及猶大人曰、當棄惡行、守我誡命法度、循我所命爾列祖、又藉我僕眾先知授爾之律法、斯民不聽、強項不馴、不信主其天主、與其列祖無異、違棄主之律例、及主與其列祖所立之約、並主警戒之言、從虛無之神、行虛妄之事、主命之勿效四周異邦人所為、彼反從之、棄主其天主之一切誡命、鎔鑄二犢、立亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶崇拜天之萬象、奉事巴力、焚獻子女、原文作使其子女過於火用邪術、信卜筮、專行惡於主前、干犯其怒、

其實爾厭惡我之訓誨、將我之言語、棄置於後、

爾曹又遺忘勸爾如子之言曰、我子、主懲爾、勿藐視、主責爾、勿喪膽、蓋主懲其所愛者、撲其所納之子、爾若受懲、則是天主待爾如子、焉有父而不懲其子者乎、眾既受懲、爾若不受懲、則為私子、非嫡子也、生我身之父、懲我而我敬之、況賦畀我神之父、豈不更當服之以致得永生乎、生我身之父、暫時任意懲我、惟賦畀我神之父懲我、乃為我之益、使我成聖、可同於彼、凡懲責、受之時不為樂、乃為憂、後必為由懲責得練達者、結善義平康之果、

世未有不犯罪者、如主之民獲罪於主、主向之震怒、付於敵人、為敵人擄至敵國、或遠或近、如在被擄之地、問心悔罪、在擄之者地祈主曰、我儕犯罪、我儕違逆、我儕作惡、如在擄之之敵國、盡心盡意歸主、向其故土、即主所賜其列祖之地、與主所選之邑、及我為主名所建之殿、禱告於主、

主歟、民遭患難、則仰念主、主加之懲罰、則傾心以祈求主、

惡我者亦惡我父、若我在其中、不行他人所未行之事、則其人無罪、今已見之、且惡我及我父、

爾寄居敵國、爾地荒蕪、此時地自可休息享安息年、爾居此地之時、未守安息年、不容地休息、既荒蕪則自休息、

我必毀爾邱壇、滅爾日像、使爾之屍與爾偶像偃仆一處、我心必憎爾、
