万军之耶和华必保护他们；他们必吞灭仇敌，践踏弹石。他们必喝血呐喊，犹如饮酒；他们必像盛满血的碗，又像坛的四角满了血。

我必叫你成为大国。我必赐福给你，叫你的名为大；你也要叫别人得福。

丰富尊荣都从你而来，你也治理万物。在你手里有大能大力，使人尊大强盛都出于你。

约翰是点着的明灯，你们情愿暂时喜欢他的光。

你们出去究竟是为什么？是要看先知吗？我告诉你们，是的，他比先知大多了。经上记着说：‘我要差遣我的使者在你前面预备道路’，所说的就是这个人。我实在告诉你们，凡妇人所生的，没有一个兴起来大过施洗约翰的；然而天国里最小的比他还大。从施洗约翰的时候到如今，天国是努力进入的，努力的人就得着了。因为众先知和律法说预言，到约翰为止。你们若肯领受，这人就是那应当来的以利亚。有耳可听的，就应当听！我可用什么比这世代呢？好像孩童坐在街市上招呼同伴，说：‘我们向你们吹笛，你们不跳舞；我们向你们举哀，你们不捶胸。’约翰来了，也不吃也不喝，人就说他是被鬼附着的；人子来了，也吃也喝，人又说他是贪食好酒的人，是税吏和罪人的朋友。但智慧之子总以智慧为是。”

彼得和十一个使徒站起，高声说：“犹太人和一切住在耶路撒冷的人哪，这件事你们当知道，也当侧耳听我的话。你们想这些人是醉了；其实不是醉了，因为时候刚到巳初。这正是先知约珥所说的：‘神说：在末后的日子，我要将我的灵浇灌凡有血气的。你们的儿女要说预言；你们的少年人要见异象；老年人要做异梦。在那些日子，我要将我的灵浇灌我的仆人和使女，他们就要说预言。
