施洗者約翰來了，不喫餅，也不喝酒，你們就說，「他有鬼附着」。

然而那從我母腹分別了我、藉他的恩召了我、的上帝、

永恆主對約書亞說：『今天我開始要使你在以色列眾人眼中成為尊大，叫他們知道我怎樣和摩西同在，也必怎樣和你同在。

於是眾人都充滿了聖靈、說起話來，照聖靈給他們去發表的。

我告訴你們，婦人所生的、沒有一個比約翰大的；然而在上帝國裏最小的、比他還大！』（

『你要告訴以色列人說：無論男人女人、若許了特別的願，離俗人的願，就要離俗而歸永恆主。清酒濃酒他要遠離；清酒作的醋、濃酒作的醋、他都不可喝；任何葡萄汁他都不可喝；鮮葡萄或乾葡萄他也不可喫。儘他離俗的日子、凡由葡萄樹所出產的、無論是不熟的，或是葡萄皮、他都不可喫。

然而是你拉我出母腹的；我在母懷裏，你就使我有倚靠的心。

他父親不肯，說：『我知道，我兒，我知道；他也必成為一個民族；而且也必昌大。雖然如此，他的小弟弟卻要比他還昌大；他的後裔必成為許多國家。』

那麼你要謹慎，清酒濃酒都不可喝，一切不潔淨之物也不可喫。注意吧，你必懷孕，生個兒子；剃頭刀都不可上他的頭，因為這孩子一出母腹就歸上帝做離俗人；是他要開始拯救以色列人脫離非利士人之手的。』婦人就去、對她丈夫說：『有一個神人到我面前來，他的容貌像上帝使者的容貌，很可畏懼；我沒有問他從哪裏來，他也沒有將他的名字告訴我，

萬軍之永恆主必圍護他們；他們必喫喝，必踐踏甩機；必喫喝鬧嚷嚷、如同喝酒；盛滿滿如同祭碗，濕透着血如同祭壇角。

『我必使你成為大國；我必給你祝福，使你的名尊大；成為祝福的口頭語：

豐富尊榮都從你而來，你統治着萬有。在你手裏有大能大力；使人尊大、使眾人強盛、都出於你的手。

那個人是點𤏲而發亮的燈，你們情願暫時以他的光為歡樂。

你們出去，到底是為了甚麼？要看神言人麼？是的，我告訴你們；而且還是比神言人大多的呢！這個人就是經上所記到的，說：「看哪，我差遣我的使者在你前面，他要在你前面準備你的道路。」我實在告訴你們，婦人所生的，沒有一個興起來比施洗者約翰更大的；然而在天國裏最小的比他還大！從施洗者約翰到現在，天國運用着權力，用力的人攫取了它。因為眾神言人和律法書傳了神言，到約翰為止。你們若肯接受，這人就是那將要來的以利亞。有耳的應當聽。『至於這世代、我要用甚麼來比擬它呢？那就像小孩子坐在市場上呼叫別的小孩說：「我們向你們吹笛，你們也不跳舞；我們向你們哀號，你們也不捶胸。」約翰來了，也不喫、也不喝，人就說：「他有鬼附着」。人子來了，也喫也喝，人就說：「看哪，一個貪喫的人和酒徒！收稅人和「罪人」的朋友！」但智慧總是從智慧的行為得證為對的。』

但是彼得同那十一個人卻站着，提高了聲音，向他們發表言論說：『猶太人、和所有住耶路撒冷的人哪，這件事你們要知道，要側耳聽我的話。這些人並不是照你們所想的喝醉了，因為這時候只是白天九點。不是喝醉的，這是那藉神言人約珥所說的：「上帝說：在末後的日子我必將我的靈傾注於一切血肉之人；你們的兒子、你們的女兒、就必說豫言，你們的青年人必看見奇象，你們的老年人必作夢。是的，在那些日子、我必將我的靈傾注於我的僕人、我的婢女，他們就必說豫言。
