Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.

So God said to him,“ Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to administer justice,I will therefore do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you before and never will be again.In addition, I will give you what you did not ask for: both riches and honor, so that no king will be your equal during your entire life.

For the training of the body has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield. The LORD grants favor and honor; he does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity.

Don’t work for the food that perishes but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set his seal of approval on him.”

You who are his holy ones, fear the LORD, for those who fear him lack nothing.

I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging for bread.

What, then, are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Trust in the LORD and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely.

he will dwell on the heights; his refuge will be the rocky fortresses, his food provided, his water assured.

They will not be disgraced in times of adversity; they will be satisfied in days of hunger.

but one thing is necessary. Mary has made the right choice, and it will not be taken away from her.”
