Yet the LORD was pleased to crush him severely. When you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and by his hand, the LORD’s pleasure will be accomplished.After his anguish, he will see light and be satisfied. By his knowledge, my righteous servant will justify many, and he will carry their iniquities.

“ Listen to me, house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been sustained from the womb, carried along since birth.I will be the same until your old age, and I will bear you up when you turn gray. I have made you, and I will carry you; I will bear and rescue you.

For as a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you; and as a groom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you.

Tell them,‘ As I live— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live. Repent, repent of your evil ways! Why will you die, house of Israel?’

The LORD your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will be quiet in his love. He will delight in you with singing.”

“ I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.

And Isaiah says boldly, I was found by those who were not looking for me; I revealed myself to those who were not asking for me.But to Israel he says, All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and defiant people.

I will take delight in them to do what is good for them, and with all my heart and mind I will faithfully plant them in this land.“ For this is what the LORD says: Just as I have brought all this terrible disaster on these people, so am I about to bring on them all the good I am promising them.

Then bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let’s celebrate with a feast,because this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

He will stand and shepherd them in the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD his God. They will live securely, for then his greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.

Now Saul was still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord. He went to the high priestand requested letters from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way, he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.As he traveled and was nearing Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him.Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”“ Who are you, Lord?” Saul said.“ I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting,” he replied.“ But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one.Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.He was unable to see for three days and did not eat or drink.There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision,“ Ananias.”“ Here I am, Lord,” he replied.“ Get up and go to the street called Straight,” the Lord said to him,“ to the house of Judas, and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, since he is praying there.In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing his hands on him so that he may regain his sight.”“ Lord,” Ananias answered,“ I have heard from many people about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem.And he has authority here from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”But the Lord said to him,“ Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to take my name to Gentiles, kings, and Israelites.I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

And they will be called the Holy People, the LORD’s Redeemed; and you will be called Cared For, A City Not Deserted.

because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit, and with full assurance. You know how we lived among you for your benefit,

You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Then they may come to their senses and escape the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

In all their suffering, he suffered, and the angel of his presence saved them. He redeemed them because of his love and compassion; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.

See, the Lord GOD comes with strength, and his power establishes his rule. His wages are with him, and his reward accompanies him.He protects his flock like a shepherd; he gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them in the fold of his garment. He gently leads those that are nursing.
