不見己目中之巨木、又安得謂爾兄弟曰「容吾去爾目中之纖芥」乎？嗟爾偽為善者！盍先除爾目中之橫木、俾得明見、然後再思去兄弟目中之纖芥乎？

你不见自己眼中有梁木，怎能对你弟兄说：‘容我去掉你眼中的刺’呢？你这假冒为善的人！先去掉自己眼中的梁木，然后才能看得清楚，去掉你弟兄眼中的刺。”

How can you say to your brother,‘ Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

How can you say to your friend,‘ Let me take the bit of sawdust out of your eye’? How can you say this while there is a piece of wood in your own eye? You pretender! First take the piece of wood out of your own eye. Then you will be able to see clearly to take the bit of sawdust out of your friend’s eye.

How can you say to your brother,‘ Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

How can you think of saying,‘ Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

Or how can you say to your brother,‘ Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam of wood in your eye? Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the splinter in your brother’s eye.

How can you say to your brother,‘ Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

爾自謂富有、綽有餘裕、而無所欠缺；殊不知爾實為百無聊賴、貧窮不堪、盲而裸者。吾勸爾向我購置百煉之金、俾成真富；純白之衣、用掩爾羞；傅目之膏、以啟爾視。

目為一身之燈；目正則清明在躬、目不正則身陷晦冥。是故心光若晦、則晦之為晦、又將何如！

但欲憑此、而為吾兒阿乃西謨、向爾懇求阿乃西謨者、乃予縲絏中所生之愛兒也。曩者彼於爾誠屬無益、今則於爾與我、均為有益矣。

嗟爾蒼生、爾如責人、將無以免責；蓋爾之所責於人者、率皆躬自蹈之；是爾之責人、適足自納於罪耳。

灑以靈莧。澡雪吾魂。載洗載濯。玉潔冰清。錫我天樂。枯骨回春。莫視我罪。銷我邪淫。為我再造。純白之心。正氣內蘊。煥然一新。慈顏常照。聖神恆存。救恩不匱。

『詭譎奸惡、備爾一身、魔鬼之子、百善之仇、混淆主之正道、伊于胡底！

伯鐸祿曰：『各宜悔悟、奉耶穌基督之名受洗、以滌罪愆、以受聖神。

凡此皆天主之所賜也。天主既藉基督賜吾人復得承歡、又賜吾儕參贊重歡之事。

然則爾欲正人、盍先正己！禁人為盜者、豈可自身為盜？禁人奸淫者、豈可自犯奸淫？厭惡偶像者、豈可褻瀆聖殿？而以法為誇者、豈可明知故犯、以辱天主乎？蓋正如經之所言：『因爾之故、天主之名、為世詬病。』爾苟能遵法而行、割禮固屬有益；如仍犯法、則雖受割、亦猶未割。設有未割之人、能遵守法規、則雖未割、能不謂之已割乎？且彼未割而自然守法者、不將罪爾已割而犯成文之法乎？蓋外表之猶太人、非真猶太人；而形軀之割禮、非真割禮。惟內心為猶太人、真為猶太人；心靈之割禮、真為割禮。蓋割禮在精神、而不在形式、在取悅於天主、而不在苟合於人耳。

至吾儕之與爾等信徒相處、如何潔身自好、正直無私、無可指摘、此不惟爾等知之、即天主亦可為證也。蓋爾等固知我等待爾人人、一如為父者之待其子、獎掖慰勉、耳提面命、務使爾等立身處世、無忝天主、以副其召爾共享天國及光榮之美意。

哀哉爾經生與法利塞人、虛偽之徒也！爾曹向眾緊閉天國、己既不進、又阻人之進。

主應之曰：『虛偽之人、爾中誰有禮日不解牛驢出廄、而引之飲水乎？

凡不具此等美德者、無異短視淺識之心盲、而自忘其舊罪已蒙滌除矣。

人苟能滌垢蕩瑕、澡身浴德、則必得成為高尚之器、既聖且潔、必蒙其主大用、以成善工。

主語作惡者。何事研玉律。口頭誦盟約。心中存乖逆。吾言如充耳。不復懷大法。盜賊為同黨。奸非是所狎。出口惟莠言。行詐憑長舌。骨肉反不親。中傷盍有極。爾罪參在上。吾暫守緘默。遂謂吾無見。與爾為同德。詎知時已屆。將降爾顯罰。罪孽彰在目。何由逭爾責。

在天主前、爾心不正、實無與於斯道、

方憶耶穌「雞猶未鳴、行見爾不認予者三」之言。伯鐸祿乃悄然而出、不禁涕淚滂沱。

予曾為爾祈禱、使爾信德不渝、爾既回頭、務宜堅定爾兄弟之信心。』

失明三日、飲食俱廢。其時大馬士革有門徒名亞拿尼亞、忽睹異象、聞主呼曰：『亞拿尼亞。』曰：『主、吾在是。』主曰：『爾且起、赴所謂正街者入樹德宅、訪笪爾西人掃羅、彼方祈禱。』（當時掃羅於異象中見一人名亞納尼亞者、手按其身、使之復明）亞拿尼亞曰：『主、歷聞人言、彼於耶路撒冷迫害聖徒、無所不用其極；近復受命於司祭長、有權縛解呼籲爾名者。』主曰：『第往、斯人乃吾特選之器、將以吾名播諸異族與列王、以及義塞子孫。吾且示之、彼為吾名、將如何備嘗艱苦。』亞拿尼亞遂往、入其室、手按之曰：『兄弟掃羅、途中顯爾前者、主耶穌也，主遣吾至、使爾復明而受聖神。』掃羅即覺有物如鱗、自目而墮、乃復明、起而受洗、遂進食而復健焉。掃羅與大馬士革門徒、同處數日、於各會堂傳揚耶穌為上主之子；
