Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.You love evil more than good, Lying rather than speaking righteousness. SelahYou love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue.

The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth little.The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom.

“ Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”;“ The poison of asps is under their lips”;“ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things,Who have said,“ With our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is Lord over us?”
