耶穌看出他們所想的，就說：“你們心裡為甚麼存著惡念呢？

我的神啊，我知道你察驗人心，喜悅正直；至於我，我以正直的心甘願奉獻這一切；現在我也非常歡喜看見你在這裡的人民，都甘願奉獻給你。

基督既然在肉身受過苦，你們也應當以同樣的心志裝備自己（因為在肉身受過苦的，就已經與罪斷絕了），

神不會查究這事嗎？因為他知道人心的隱祕。

“我知道你萬事都能作，你的旨意是不能攔阻的。

但我並不珍惜自己的性命，只求跑完我的路程，完成我從主耶穌所領受的職分，為神恩惠的福音作見證。

趁著白晝，我們必須作那差我來者的工；黑夜一到，就沒有人能作工了。

被造的在神面前沒有一樣不是顯明的，萬有在他的眼前都是赤露敞開的；我們必須向他交帳。

“至於你，我兒所羅門哪，你要認識耶和華你父親的神，一心樂意事奉他，因為耶和華鑒察萬人的心，知道人的一切心思意念。你若是尋求他，就必尋見；你若是離棄他，他必永遠丟棄你。

因為王知道這些事，所以我對王坦白直說。我確信這些事沒有一件能瞞得過他，因為這不是在背地裡作的。

也不需要誰指證人是怎樣的，因為他知道人心裡存的是甚麼。

我必以死亡擊殺她的兒女；眾教會就都知道我是察驗人肺腑心腸的，我要照著你們的行為報應你們各人。

他不灰心，也不沮喪，直到他在地上設立公理，眾海島的人都等候他的教訓。

耶穌知道他們的議論，就對他們說：“你們心裡為甚麼議論呢？

甚麼事都不怕有反對你們的人，這就證明他們要滅亡，你們要得救，這都是出於神。
