You have wearied the LORD with your words. But you say,“ How have we wearied him?” Because you say,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the Lord’s opinion, and he delights in them,” or“ Where is the God of justice?”

You have wearied the Lord with your words.“ How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying,“ All who do evil are good in the eyes of the Lord, and he is pleased with them” or“ Where is the God of justice?”

You have worn out the Lord by what you keep saying.“ How have we worn him out?” you ask. You have done it by saying,“ All those who do evil things are good in the Lord’ s sight. And he is pleased with them.” Or you ask,“ Is God really fair?”

You have wearied the Lord with your words. But you say,“ How have we wearied him?” By saying,“ Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delights in them.” Or by asking,“ Where is the God of justice?”

You have wearied the Lord with your words.“ How have we wearied him?” you ask. You have wearied him by saying that all who do evil are good in the Lord’s sight, and he is pleased with them. You have wearied him by asking,“ Where is the God of justice?”

You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you ask,“ How have we wearied him?” When you say,“ Everyone who does what is evil is good in the LORD’s sight, and he is delighted with them, or else where is the God of justice?”

Ye have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? In that ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of Jehovah, and he delighteth in them; or where is the God of justice?

You have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet you ask,“ How have we wearied Him?” When you say,“ Everyone who does what is evil is good in the Lord’s sight, and He is pleased with them,” or“ Where is the God of justice?”

Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied[ him]? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil[ is] good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where[ is] the God of judgment?

You have wearied Yahweh with your words. Yet you say,‘ How have we wearied him?’ In that you say,‘ Everyone who does evil is good in Yahweh’s sight, and he delights in them;’ or‘ Where is the God of justice?’

You did not buy me aromatic reeds; you did not present to me the fat of your sacrifices. Yet you burdened me with your sins; you made me weary with your evil deeds.

When a sentence is not executed at once against a crime, the human heart is encouraged to do evil.

Those who pull evil along using cords of emptiness are as good as dead, who pull sin as with cart ropes.They say,“ Let him hurry, let him act quickly, so we can see; let the plan of the Holy One of Israel take shape and come to pass, then we will know it!”Those who call evil good and good evil are as good as dead, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter.

At that time I will search through Jerusalem with lamps. I will punish the people who are entrenched in their sin, those who think to themselves,‘ The LORD neither rewards nor punishes.’

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed the prosperity of the wicked.For they suffer no pain; their bodies are strong and well-fed.They are immune to the trouble common to men; they do not suffer as other men do.Arrogance is their necklace, and violence their clothing.Their prosperity causes them to do wrong; their thoughts are sinful.They mock and say evil things; they proudly threaten violence.They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth.Therefore they have more than enough food to eat, and even suck up the water of the sea.They say,“ How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?”Take a good look! This is what the wicked are like, those who always have it so easy and get richer and richer.I concluded,“ Surely in vain I have kept my motives pure and maintained a pure lifestyle.I suffer all day long, and am punished every morning.”If I had publicized these thoughts, I would have betrayed your loyal followers.

Above all, understand this: In the last days blatant scoffers will come, being propelled by their own evil urgesand saying,“ Where is his promised return? For ever since our ancestors died, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.”

He said to me,“ The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is extremely great; the land is full of murder, and the city is full of corruption, for they say,‘ The LORD has abandoned the land, and the LORD does not see!’

But now you are preoccupied with the judgment due the wicked, judgment and justice take hold of you.

I, the LORD, say:‘ You people have deserted me! You keep turning your back on me.’ So I have unleashed my power against you and have begun to destroy you. I have grown tired of feeling sorry for you!”

Can a person rob God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say,‘ How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions!

For this reason the LORD is ready to show you mercy; he sits on his throne, ready to have compassion on you. Indeed, the LORD is a just God; all who wait for him in faith will be blessed.

For Job says,‘ I am innocent, but God turns away my right.Concerning my right, should I lie? My wound is incurable, although I am without transgression.’What man is like Job, who drinks derision like water!He goes about in company with evildoers, he goes along with wicked men.For he says,‘ It does not profit a man when he makes his delight with God.’

So Isaiah replied,“ Pay attention, family of David. Do you consider it too insignificant to try the patience of men? Is that why you are also trying the patience of my God?

As for the Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. He is a reliable God who is never unjust, he is fair and upright.

Yet you ask,“ Why?” The LORD is testifying against you on behalf of the wife you married when you were young, to whom you have become unfaithful even though she is your companion and wife by law.

But Job will be tested to the end, because his answers are like those of wicked men.

“ You have criticized me sharply,” says the LORD,“ but you ask,‘ How have we criticized you?’You have said,‘ It is useless to serve God. How have we been helped by keeping his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD who rules over all?So now we consider the arrogant to be happy; indeed, those who practice evil are successful. In fact, those who challenge God escape!’”

“‘ Because you did not remember the days of your youth and have enraged me with all these deeds, I hereby repay you for what you have done, declares the sovereign LORD. Have you not engaged in prostitution on top of all your other abominable practices?

Look! I will press you down, like a cart loaded down with grain presses down.

where your ancestors challenged my authority, and tried my patience, even though they had seen my work.For forty years I was continually disgusted with that generation, and I said,‘ These people desire to go astray; they do not obey my commands.’

“ A son naturally honors his father and a slave respects his master. If I am your father, where is my honor? If I am your master, where is my respect? The LORD who rules over all asks you this, you priests who make light of my name! But you reply,‘ How have we made light of your name?’You are offering improper sacrifices on my altar, yet you ask,‘ How have we offended you?’ By treating the table of the LORD as if it is of no importance!

He says to himself,“ God overlooks it; he does not pay attention; he never notices.”Rise up, LORD! O God, strike him down! Do not forget the oppressed!Why does the wicked man reject God? He says to himself,“ You will not hold me accountable.”

I hate your new moon festivals and assemblies; they are a burden that I am tired of carrying.

He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in the chamber of his idolatrous images? For they think,‘ The LORD does not see us! The LORD has abandoned the land!’”

Do you really think that one who hates justice can govern? And will you declare guilty the supremely righteous One,

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say,‘ He has a demon!’The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Look at him, a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

Don’t keep speaking so arrogantly, letting proud talk come out of your mouth! For the LORD is a God who knows; he evaluates what people do.
