Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.

He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah,‘ to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people prepared for the Lord.”

His disciples asked him, saying,“ Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”Jesus answered them,“ Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things,but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.

“ I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.

I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, you aren’t ready even now,

They asked him,“ What then? Are you Elijah?” He said,“ I am not.”“ Are you the prophet?” He answered,“ No.”They said therefore to him,“ Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”He said,“ I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness,‘ Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

They, whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse, for they are a rebellious house, yet they will know that there has been a prophet among them.

Moreover he said to me,“ Son of man, receive in your heart and hear with your ears all my words that I speak to you.Go to them of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them,‘ This is what the Lord Yahweh says,’ whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse.

I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
