當那些時候，耶穌應時地說：『父啊，天地的主啊，我稱謝你，因為你將這些事向智慧通達的人隱藏起來，向嬰孩卻啓示了。

那時候，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我讚美你，因為你把這些事向有智慧的和有學問的人隱藏起來，而向小孩子們顯明出來。

耶穌又曰、父乎、天地主也、我讚爾、以此事、於智者達者則隱之、於赤子則顯之、

既而曰、父乎、天地主也、我讚爾、以此道、於智賢則隱之、於赤子則顯之、

當時耶穌曰、父歟、天地之主、我讚爾、因爾藏斯道於知者達者、而顯之於赤子、

爾時耶穌又言曰：『頌揚聖父、天地真主！蓋爾隱此道於智巧之人、而啟之於赤子；

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father. You are Lord of heaven and earth. You have hidden these things from wise and educated people. But you have shown them to little children.

At that time Jesus declared,“ I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer:“ O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to infants.

At that time Jesus answered and said,“ I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

At that season Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes:

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to infants.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.

Jesus answered him,“ Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

and said to him,“ Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them,“ Yes. Did you never read,‘ Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?’”

From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.

In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said,“ I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well- pleasing in your sight.”Turning to the disciples, he said,“ All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”Turning to the disciples, he said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”

The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands.

According as it is written,“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”David says,“ Let their table be made a snare, a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Always keep their backs bent.”

But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.

So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said,“ Father, I thank you that you listened to me.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said to him,“ Are we also blind?”Jesus said to them,“ If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say,‘ We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

When he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.He said to them,“ To you is given the mystery of God’s Kingdom, but to those who are outside, all things are done in parables,that‘ seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’”

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world that he might put to shame the things that are strong.God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that don’t exist, that he might bring to nothing the things that exist,that no flesh should boast before God.

We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown, yet a wisdom not of this world nor of the rulers of this world who are coming to nothing.But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.

I thank you, and praise you, you God of my fathers, who have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we desired of you; for you have made known to us the king’s matter.”

that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke,“ Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”For this cause they couldn’t believe, for Isaiah said again,“ He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”

In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.The humble also will increase their joy in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

He answered them,“ To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he has.Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they don’t see, and hearing, they don’t hear, neither do they understand.In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says,‘ By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive:for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again; and I would heal them.’“ But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.

“ Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”Then I said,“ Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”But Yahweh said to me,“ Don’t say,‘ I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says Yahweh.

and said,“ Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn, and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

saying,“ Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

Yahweh says,“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?

For Yahweh has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and he has covered your heads, the seers.All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying,“ Read this, please;” and he says,“ I can’t, for it is sealed;”and the book is delivered to one who is not educated, saying,“ Read this, please;” and he says,“ I can’t read.”The Lord said,“ Because this people draws near with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which has been taught;therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will be hidden.”

But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them,“ Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Behold, to Yahweh your God belongs heaven, the heaven of heavens, and the earth, with all that is therein.Only Yahweh had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their offspring after them, even you above all peoples, as it is today.

Yahweh called Samuel. He said,“ Here I am.”He ran to Eli and said,“ Here I am; for you called me.” He said,“ I didn’t call. Lie down again.” He went and lay down.Yahweh called yet again,“ Samuel!” Samuel arose and went to Eli and said,“ Here I am; for you called me.” He answered,“ I didn’t call, my son. Lie down again.”Now Samuel didn’t yet know Yahweh, neither was Yahweh’s word yet revealed to him.Yahweh called Samuel again the third time. He arose and went to Eli and said,“ Here I am; for you called me.” Eli perceived that Yahweh had called the child.Therefore Eli said to Samuel,“ Go, lie down. It shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say,‘ Speak, Yahweh; for your servant hears.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.Yahweh came, and stood, and called as at other times,“ Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said,“ Speak; for your servant hears.”Yahweh said to Samuel,“ Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse on themselves, and he didn’t restrain them.Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be removed with sacrifice or offering forever.”Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of Yahweh’s house. Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.Then Eli called Samuel and said,“ Samuel, my son!” He said,“ Here I am.”He said,“ What is the thing that he has spoken to you? Please don’t hide it from me. God do so to you, and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that he spoke to you.”Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said,“ It is Yahweh. Let him do what seems good to him.”Samuel grew, and Yahweh was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.Yahweh appeared again in Shiloh; for Yahweh revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by Yahweh’s word.

But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth,to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who are dying,in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake,seeing it is God who said,“ Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can stop his hand, or ask him,“ What are you doing?”

Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

Abram said to the king of Sodom,“ I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,

He blessed him, and said,“ Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.

Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?But this multitude that doesn’t know the law is cursed.”

But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”
