Blind people receive sight. Disabled people walk. Those who have skin diseases are made‘ clean.’ Deaf people hear. Those who are dead are raised to life. And the good news is preached to those who are poor.

And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the LORD to glorify him.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

On that day the deaf will hear the words of a document, and out of a deep darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

“ I am the LORD. I have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will hold you by your hand. I will watch over you, and I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,in order to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those sitting in darkness from the prison house.

Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Otherwise, believe because of the works themselves.“ Truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

At that time Jesus healed many people of diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and he granted sight to many blind people.He replied to them,“ Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news,

and large crowds came to him, including the lame, the blind, the crippled, those unable to speak, and many others. They put them at his feet, and he healed them.So the crowd was amazed when they saw those unable to speak talking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they gave glory to the God of Israel.

The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

In Lystra a man was sitting who was without strength in his feet, had never walked, and had been lame from birth.He listened as Paul spoke. After looking directly at him and seeing that he had faith to be healed,Paul said in a loud voice,“ Stand up on your feet!” And he jumped up and began to walk around.

After he said this, he shouted with a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them,“ Unwrap him and let him go.”

A man who was lame from birth was being carried there. He was placed each day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so that he could beg from those entering the temple.When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked for money.Peter, along with John, looked straight at him and said,“ Look at us.”So he turned to them, expecting to get something from them.But Peter said,“ I don’t have silver or gold, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.So he jumped up and started to walk, and he entered the temple with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.

So Naaman went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, according to the command of the man of God. Then his skin was restored and became like the skin of a small boy, and he was clean.

But if I am doing them and you don’t believe me, believe the works. This way you will know and understand that the Father is in me and I in the Father.”

“ I did tell you and you don’t believe,” Jesus answered them.“ The works that I do in my Father’s name testify about me.

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and asked,“ Am I God, killing and giving life, that this man expects me to cure a man of his skin disease? Recognize that he is only picking a fight with me.”

And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly,“ Be sure that no one finds out.”

“ But I have a greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about me that the Father has sent me.

When Jesus saw that a crowd was quickly gathering, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,“ You mute and deaf spirit, I command you: Come out of him and never enter him again.”

If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a disabled man, by what means he was healed,let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead— by him this man is standing here before you healthy.

Then he came up and touched the open coffin, and the pallbearers stopped. And he said,“ Young man, I tell you, get up!”The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.Then fear came over everyone, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has risen among us,” and“ God has visited his people.”

When he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.Right away a man with leprosy came up and knelt before him, saying,“ Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”Reaching out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying,“ I am willing; be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.Then Jesus told him,“ See that you don’t tell anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

“ Leave,” he said,“ because the girl is not dead but asleep.” And they laughed at him.After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word.

The humble will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the LORD will praise him. May your hearts live forever!

This man came to him at night and said,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform these signs you do unless God were with him.”

Bring out a people who are blind, yet have eyes, and are deaf, yet have ears.

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD raises up those who are oppressed. The LORD loves the righteous.

While he was in Jerusalem during the Passover Festival, many believed in his name when they saw the signs he was doing.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

They were extremely astonished and said,“ He has done everything well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper.He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor.

“ Fellow Israelites, listen to these words: This Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through him, just as you yourselves know.

So I shepherded the flock intended for slaughter, the oppressed of the flock. I took two staffs, calling one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock.
