Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”

Blessed is anyone who does not give up their faith because of me.”

And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”

And he added,“ God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

and blessed is the one who isn’t offended by me.”

And blessed is any person who does not take offense at Me.”

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

And blessed is he, whosoever shall find no occasion of stumbling in me.

And if anyone is not offended because of Me, he is blessed.”

And blessed is[ he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”

The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Jesus said to them,“ No doubt you will quote to me the proverb,‘ Physician, heal yourself!’ and say,‘ What we have heard that you did in Capernaum, do here in your hometown too.’”And he added,“ I tell you the truth, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.But in truth I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, when the sky was shut up three and a half years, and there was a great famine over all the land.Yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to a woman who was a widow at Zarephath in Sidon.And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”When they heard this, all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage.They got up, forced him out of the town, and brought him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, so that they could throw him down the cliff.

He will become a sanctuary, but a stone that makes a person trip, and a rock that makes one stumble– to the two houses of Israel. He will become a trap and a snare to the residents of Jerusalem.Many will stumble over the stone and the rock, and will fall and be seriously injured, and will be ensnared and captured.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written:‘ I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Then many will be led into sin, and they will betray one another and hate one another.

After this many of his disciples quit following him and did not accompany him any longer.

For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom,but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles.

Others said,“ This is the Christ!” But still others said,“ No, for the Christ doesn’t come from Galilee, does he?Don’t the scriptures say that the Christ is a descendant of David and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”

As he said these things, a woman in the crowd spoke out to him,“ Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts at which you nursed!”But he replied,“ Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”

Now, brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.

How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned!How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Then the disciples came to him and said,“ Do you know that when the Pharisees heard this saying they were offended?”And he replied,“ Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.Leave them! They are blind guides. If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, both will fall into a pit.”

Then Simeon blessed them and said to his mother Mary,“ Listen carefully: This child is destined to be the cause of the falling and rising of many in Israel and to be a sign that will be rejected.

Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but( as if it were possible) by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,just as it is written,“ Look, I am laying in Zion a stone that will cause people to stumble and a rock that will make them fall, yet the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?And aren’t all his sisters here with us? Where did he get all this?”And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.”

and a stumbling- stone and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD’s commands; he meditates on his commands day and night.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.“ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.“ Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.“ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.“ Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.“ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.“ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.“ Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely on account of me.Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! It is necessary that stumbling blocks come, but woe to the person through whom they come.

How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the LORD.

Then many of his disciples, when they heard these things, said,“ This is a difficult saying! Who can understand it?”When Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining about this, he said to them,“ Does this cause you to be offended?
