Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.

The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth.All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be baptized by him,“ You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them,“ What are you looking for?” They said to him,“ Rabbi”( which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher),“ where are you staying?”

When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the“ Yes, yes” and the“ No, no?”But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not“ Yes and no.”

In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,“ Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying,“ The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”

Boiling over like water, you shall not excel; because you went up to your father’s bed, then defiled it. He went up to my couch.
