But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him,“ Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”

The Pharisees saw this. They said to Jesus,“ Look! It is against the Law to do this on the Sabbath day. But your disciples are doing it anyway!”

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

But some Pharisees saw them do it and protested,“ Look, your disciples are breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ See, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

Now when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath!”

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do upon the sabbath.

And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?” that they might accuse him.

Jesus answered them,“ I did one work and you all marvel because of it.Moses has given you circumcision( not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a boy.If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath?Don’t judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”

Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

You shall labor six days, and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.He said to the man who had his hand withered,“ Stand up.”He said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?” But they were silent.When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.

They returned and prepared spices and ointments. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.But Jesus answered them,“ My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”

He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her,“ Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude,“ There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”Therefore the Lord answered him,“ You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Rise up, and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.Then Jesus said to them,“ I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”He looked around at them all, and said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.

‘ Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of solemn rest to Yahweh: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death.

It was a Sabbath when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them,“ He put mud on my eyes, I washed, and I see.”Some therefore of the Pharisees said,“ This man is not from God, because he doesn’t keep the Sabbath.” Others said,“ How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” There was division among them.

Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.So the Jews said to him who was cured,“ It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”He answered them,“ He who made me well said to me,‘ Take up your mat and walk.’”

“ If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words,

“ Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your servant, and the alien may be refreshed.

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to Yahweh. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.It is a sign between me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.’”

While the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.Those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation.They put him in custody, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.Yahweh said to Moses,“ The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp.”All the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
