“‘ An enemy did this,’ he replied.“ The servants asked him,‘ Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him,‘ Then do you want us to go and gather them?’

“‘ An enemy has done this!’ the farmer exclaimed.“‘ Should we pull out the weeds?’ they asked.

And he said to them,‘ An enemy has done this!’ The slaves* said to him,‘ Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’

He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him,‘ Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’

And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this. And the servants say unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

“‘ An enemy did this!’ he told them.“‘ So, do you want us to go and gather them up?’ the slaves asked him.

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

He said,‘ An enemy has done this.’ So the slaves replied,‘ Do you want us to go and gather them?’

“ He said to them,‘ An enemy has done this.’“ The servants asked him,‘ Do you want us to go and gather them up?’

Even though I am absent in the body, I am present in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who has been doing such a thing.When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus, and I am with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,hand that one over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little leaven leavens the whole batch of dough?Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new unleavened batch, as indeed you are. For Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed.

And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

John responded,“ Master, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he does not follow us.”“ Don’t stop him,” Jesus told him,“ because whoever is not against you is for you.”When the days were coming to a close for him to be taken up, he determined to journey to Jerusalem.He sent messengers ahead of himself, and on the way they entered a village of the Samaritans to make preparations for him.But they did not welcome him, because he determined to journey to Jerusalem.When the disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?”

This punishment by the majority is sufficient for that person.As a result, you should instead forgive and comfort him. Otherwise, he may be overwhelmed by excessive grief.Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him.I wrote for this purpose: to test your character to see if you are obedient in everything.Anyone you forgive, I do too. For what I have forgiven— if I have forgiven anything— it is for your benefit in the presence of Christ,so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes.

Have mercy on those who waver;save others by snatching them from the fire; have mercy on others but with fear, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
