How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.

By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;choosing rather to share ill treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.

Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

So therefore whosoever he be of you that renounceth not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; Yea, wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.

but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need.And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved.

Another parable set he before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man that sowed good seed in his field:

And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner.And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wrongfully exacted aught of any man, I restore fourfold.

For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God.When Christ, who is our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.

For ye both had compassion on them that were in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your possessions, knowing that ye have for yourselves a better possession and an abiding one.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.And with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.For neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,and laid them at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.

Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, Seeing he hath no understanding?

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto God.

He that separateth himself seeketh his own desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.
