Jesus said,“ Leave the little children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to me, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

「我實在告訴你們，你們若不變得像小孩子那樣，絕不能進天國。

耶穌卻招呼他們過來，並對門徒說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要阻止他們，因為上帝的國屬於這樣的人。我實在告訴你們，人若不像小孩子一樣接受上帝的國，絕不能進去。」

弟兄姊妹，你們的思想不要像小孩子，要長大成熟，但在罪惡的事上要像嬰孩。

因此，你們既然已經除去一切惡毒、欺詐、虛偽、嫉妒和毀謗，就要像初生的嬰兒一樣渴慕純淨的靈奶，好不斷成長，直到完全得救。

以撒出生後第八天，亞伯拉罕就照著上帝的吩咐為他行了割禮。

那時，耶穌說：「父啊，天地的主，我頌讚你，因為你把這些事向聰明、有學問的人隱藏起來，卻啟示給像孩童一般的人。

孩子斷奶以後，她就把他帶到示羅耶和華的殿，並帶去三頭公牛、十公斤麵粉和一袋酒。

她向上帝許願說：「萬軍之耶和華啊，如果你眷顧婢女的痛苦，不忘記婢女，賜給婢女一個兒子，我必讓他終生事奉你，永不剃他的頭。」

我要和你並你的子子孫孫立永恆的約，我要做你和你子孫的上帝。我要把你現在寄居的整個迦南賜給你和你的後裔永遠作產業，我也必做他們的上帝。」

哈娜沒有跟他們同去，她告訴丈夫說：「孩子斷奶以後，我會把他帶去獻給耶和華，讓他永遠住在那裡。」

他對我說，『你必懷孕生一個兒子，所以不可喝淡酒和烈酒，不可吃不潔之物，因為孩子一出生就要獻給耶和華，終生做拿細耳人。』」

耶穌看見後很生氣，對門徒說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要阻止他們，因為上帝的國屬於這樣的人。

那時年少的撒母耳穿著細麻布的以弗得，在耶和華面前事奉。

亞伯拉罕接受割禮的時候九十九歲。他的兒子以實瑪利接受割禮的時候十三歲。他們父子二人就在那天接受了割禮。
