Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before Him, and asked Him,“ Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”“ Why do you call Me good?” Jesus asked him.“ No one is good but One— God.You know the commandments: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not defraud; honor your father and mother.”He said to Him,“ Teacher, I have kept all these from my youth.”Then, looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him,“ You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”But he was stunned at this demand, and he went away grieving, because he had many possessions.Jesus looked around and said to His disciples,“ How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!”But the disciples were astonished at His words. Again Jesus said to them,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”So they were even more astonished, saying to one another,“ Then who can be saved?”Looking at them, Jesus said,“ With men it is impossible, but not with God, because all things are possible with God.”Peter began to tell Him,“ Look, we have left everything and followed You.”“ I assure you,” Jesus said,“ there is no one who has left house, brothers or sisters, mother or father, children, or fields because of Me and the gospel,who will not receive 100 times more, now at this time— houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions— and eternal life in the age to come.

so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.

“ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

that life was revealed, and we have seen it and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—

keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.

storing up for themselves a good reserve for the age to come, so that they may take hold of life that is real.

The one who loves his life will lose it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish— ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand.

so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

Simon Peter answered,“ Lord, who will we go to? You have the words of eternal life.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true One. We are in the true One— that is, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”“ What is written in the law?” He asked him.“ How do you read it?”He answered: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.“ You’ve answered correctly,” He told him.“ Do this and you will live.”

Fight the good fight for the faith; take hold of eternal life that you were called to and have made a good confession about in the presence of many witnesses.

But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate His extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

Then he escorted them out and said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

And everyone who has left houses, brothers or sisters, father or mother, children, or fields because of My name will receive 100 times more and will inherit eternal life.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, and some to shame and eternal contempt.

A ruler asked Him,“ Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”“ Why do you call Me good?” Jesus asked him.“ No one is good but One— God.You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; honor your father and mother.”“ I have kept all these from my youth,” he said.When Jesus heard this, He told him,“ You still lack one thing: Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”After he heard this, he became extremely sad, because he was very rich.Seeing that he became sad, Jesus said,“ How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”Those who heard this asked,“ Then who can be saved?”He replied,“ What is impossible with men is possible with God.”Then Peter said,“ Look, we have left what we had and followed You.”So He said to them,“ I assure you: There is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers, parents or children because of the kingdom of God,who will not receive many times more at this time, and eternal life in the age to come.”

But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again— ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life.”

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about Me.

for You gave Him authority over all flesh; so He may give eternal life to all You have given Him.This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and the One You have sent— Jesus Christ.

But now, since you have been liberated from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification— and the end is eternal life!For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
