有幾個法利賽人到耶穌那裡想試探祂，便問祂：「丈夫可以用任何理由休妻嗎？」

法利赛人前来试探耶稣，说：“人根据某些理由休妻，可以吗？”

Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

Some Pharisees came to test Jesus. They asked,“ Does the Law allow a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?”

And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking,“ Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?”

Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question:“ Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for just any reason?”

Some Pharisees approached him to test him. They asked,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?”

Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?”

The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”

And there came unto him Pharisees, trying him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

Some Pharisees approached Him to test Him. They asked,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds?”

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

Then some Pharisees came to him in order to test him. They asked,“ Is it lawful to divorce a wife for any cause?”

Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”

一些法利賽人想試探耶穌，就來問祂：「男人可以休妻嗎？」

當時，你們的祖先試我、探我，觀看我的作為達四十年之久。

有幾個法利賽人和撒都該人來試探耶穌，要求祂顯個天上的神蹟給他們看。

他們派了自己的門徒跟希律黨人一同去問耶穌：「老師，我們知道你誠實無偽，按真理傳上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。那麼請告訴我們，納稅給凱撒對不對呢？」耶穌看出了他們的惡意，就說：「你們這些偽君子，為什麼試探我呢？

他們這樣問是要使耶穌落在他們的圈套裡，可以有藉口控告祂。耶穌卻只是彎著腰用指頭在地上寫字。

其中有位律法專家試探耶穌說：

我們該不該納呢？」耶穌看破他們的陰謀，就說：「你們為什麼試探我呢？拿一個銀幣來給我看。」

後來，他們派了幾個法利賽人和希律黨人到耶穌那裡，企圖利用祂所說的話設計陷害祂。

耶穌離開那裡後，法利賽人和律法教師開始激烈地反對祂，用各種問題刁難祂，伺機找把柄陷害祂。

「還有話說，『人若休妻，必須給她休書』。但我告訴你們，除非是妻子不貞，否則，休妻就是使妻子犯通姦罪，娶被休女子的人也犯了通姦罪。

你們還問為什麼。因為耶和華在你和你的髮妻中間作證，她是你的配偶，是你盟約的妻子，你卻對她不忠。上帝不是把你們結合為一體，叫你們肉體和心靈都歸祂嗎？祂為何這樣做？是為了得敬虔的後裔。所以，要看管好你們的心，不可對自己年輕時所娶的妻子不忠。以色列的上帝耶和華說：「我憎惡休妻和以暴虐待妻子的人。所以要守護你們的心，不可有不忠的行為。」這是萬軍之耶和華說的。
