The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to succeed in his hands.

But that is not the way you learned Christ!—assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus,to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,and give no opportunity to the devil.Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord.

Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more.For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

He said,“ But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge,and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

“ Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.”Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered.Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.

You shall be careful therefore to do as the Lord your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme,or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age.

Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.

So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous

Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen!

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king,“ Amen! May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say so.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.

for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.

how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house,testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!” Then all the people said,“ Amen!” and praised the Lord.

“ Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.

that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,

and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate.For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
