“ Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock.

『所以凡聽我這些話而實行的，好比一個精明的人，把他的房子建造在磐石上。

「因此，凡是聽了我這些話而實行的人，就好比一個聰明的人把自己的房子建在磐石上。

凡聞我言而行之者、譬諸智人、建屋磐上、

聞吾言而行之者、譬彼智人、建屋磐上、

故凡聞我此言而行之者、我譬之智人、建屋於磐上、

是以聞道而能篤實履踐者、譬諸有識者建屋於磐石之上、

“ Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

“ So then, everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like a wise man. He builds his house on the rock.

“ Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

“ Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

“ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:

Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

“ Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.

“ Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice– I will show you what he is like:He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep, and laid the foundation on bedrock. When a flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.But the person who hears and does not put my words into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against that house, it collapsed immediately, and was utterly destroyed!”

If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

But he replied,“ Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”

According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master- builder I laid a foundation, but someone else builds on it. And each one must be careful how he builds.For no one can lay any foundation other than what is being laid, which is Jesus Christ.

So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.But someone will say,“ You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without works and I will show you faith by my works.You believe that God is one; well and good. Even the demons believe that– and tremble with fear.But would you like evidence, you empty fellow, that faith without works is useless?Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?You see that his faith was working together with his works and his faith was perfected by works.And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.And similarly, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another way?For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

To obey the LORD is the fundamental principle for wise living; all who carry out his precepts acquire good moral insight. He will receive praise forever.

“ If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

You are my friends if you do what I command you.

The wise person accepts instructions, but the one who speaks foolishness will come to ruin.

So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror.For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was.But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out– he will be blessed in what he does.If someone thinks he is religious yet does not bridle his tongue, and so deceives his heart, his religion is futile.Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

“ Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

“ Lord,” Judas( not Judas Iscariot) said,“ what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”Jesus replied,“ If anyone loves me, he will obey my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him.The person who does not love me does not obey my words. And the word you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

And he said to mankind,‘ The fear of the LORD– that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows,because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained.

For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments do not weigh us down,because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith.Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

The wisdom of the shrewd person is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deception.

“ Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.“ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.“ Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.“ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.“ Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.“ Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.“ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.“ Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely on account of me.Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision carries any weight– the only thing that matters is faith working through love.You were running well; who prevented you from obeying the truth?

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into hell.If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into hell.“ It was said,‘ Whoever divorces his wife must give her a legal document.’But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

He will reward each one according to his works:eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness.There will be affliction and distress on everyone who does evil, on the Jew first and also the Greek,

I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your rules.

Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral, and the murderers, and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.And the fruit that consists of righteousness is planted in peace among those who make peace.

“ For if you forgive others their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you your sins.
