是要叫你們的信心經過試驗，就比那被火煉過，仍會朽壞的金子更寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候，得著稱讚、榮耀和尊貴。

就是你們這因信蒙神能力保守的人，得著預備在末世要顯現的救恩。

按著你們所領受的教導，在他裡面扎根、建造，信心堅定，滿有感謝的心。

各人的工程將來必要顯露，因為那日子必把它顯明出來。有火要把它顯露出來，那火要考驗各人的工程是怎樣的。如果有人在這根基上建造的工程存得住，他就要得到賞賜；如果有人的工程被燒毀，他就要受虧損；自己卻要得救，只是要像從火裡經過一樣。

堅固門徒的心，勸他們恆守所信的道，又說：“我們進入神的國，必須經歷許多苦難。”

所以你要對那些用灰泥粉刷那牆的人說：‘那牆要倒塌，必有暴雨漫過。大冰雹啊！你們要降下，狂風也必暴颳。’那牆倒塌以後，人豈不會問你們：‘你們所粉刷的在哪裡呢？’”因此，主耶和華這樣說：“我要在我的烈怒中使狂風暴颳；在我的忿怒中有暴雨漫過；在烈怒中有大冰雹降下毀滅這牆。我要拆毀你們用灰泥粉刷的牆。使它傾倒在地，以致根基露出來；牆必倒塌，你們必在其中滅亡；你們就知道我是耶和華。我必這樣向牆，和向那些用灰泥粉刷這牆的人發盡我的烈怒。我要對他們說：‘牆沒有了！粉刷那牆的人也沒有了！’粉刷那牆的人，就是以色列的眾先知；他們指著耶路撒冷說預言，在沒有平安的時候，為這城見平安的異象。這是主耶和華的宣告。

他們栽在耶和華的殿中，在我們神的院子裡繁茂生長。他們年老的時候仍要結果子，經常保持茂盛青翠，好顯明耶和華是正直的；他是我的磐石，在他裡面沒有不義。

他必坐著，像熬煉和潔淨銀子的人；他必潔淨利未人，煉淨他們像煉淨金銀一樣。這樣，他們就會憑公義獻禮物給耶和華。

我告訴你，你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，死亡的權勢﹙“死亡的權勢”原文作“陰間的門”。﹚不能勝過他。

使基督藉著你們的信，住在你們心裡，使你們既然在愛中扎根建基，
