“ Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

“ You look at the bit of sawdust in your friend’s eye. But you pay no attention to the piece of wood in your own eye.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

“ And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?

Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye?

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

But a prophet of Jehovah was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because Jehovah, the God of your fathers, was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage which hath reached up unto heaven.And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not even with you trespasses of your own against Jehovah your God?
