Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged him to leave their area.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees.“ Go away from me, Lord!” he said.“ I am a sinful man!”

But they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We don’t want to know how you want us to live.

The woman said to Elijah,“ You are a man of God. What do you have against me? Did you come to bring my sin out into the open? Did you come to kill my son?”

Then all the people who lived in the area of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them. They were filled with fear. So he got into the boat and left.The man who was now free of the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him away. He said to him,“ Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away. He told people all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

They said to God,‘ Leave us alone! What can you do to us, you Mighty One?’

When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet. He shouted at the top of his voice,“ Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what do you want with me? I beg you, don’t hurt me!”

Samuel did what the Lord said. He arrived at Bethlehem. The elders of the town met him. They were trembling with fear. They asked,“ Have you come in peace?”

“ Son of God, what do you want with us?” they shouted.“ Have you come here to punish us before the time for us to be judged?”

Then the people began to beg Jesus to leave their area.Jesus was getting into the boat. The man who had been controlled by demons begged to go with him.

When he saw Elijah, he said to him,“ Is that you? You are always stirring up trouble in Israel.”

But why should we die? This great fire will burn us up. We’ll die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God again.
