倚賴自己財富的，必然衰落；義人卻必繁茂，好像綠葉。

你們富有的人哪，應當為那將要臨到你們的災禍哭泣哀號。你們的財物朽壞了，你們的衣服給蛀了，你們的金銀生鏽，這鏽要成為控告你們的鐵證，又要像火一樣吞吃你們的肉。你們竟然在這末後的日子積聚財寶。

你要囑咐那些今世富有的人，叫他們不要心高氣傲，也不要寄望在浮動的財富上，卻要仰望那厚賜百物給我們享用的神。

“看哪！這就是那不以神為自己保障的人，他只倚靠自己豐盛的財富，以毀滅別人來加強自己的力量。”

你說：我是富足的，已經發了財，毫無缺乏。卻不知你是困苦的、可憐的、貧窮的、瞎眼的、赤身的。

孩子們啊，我跟你們在一起的時候不多了。你們要尋找我，但是我對猶太人說過，現在也照樣對你們說：‘我去的地方，是你們不能去的。’

你這為自己的家積聚不義之財，在高處搭窩，以逃避災害的，有禍了！

你靠著自己的智慧和聰明，為自己得了財富，把所得的金銀放進自己的府庫裡。你靠著自己在貿易上的大智慧，增添你的財富，你又因自己的財富心裡高傲。

你的眼睛注視在錢財上，錢財卻不見了，因為錢財必長起翅膀，如鷹飛往天上。

耶和華這樣說：“智慧人不可誇耀自己的智慧，勇士不可誇耀自己的勇力，財主不可誇耀自己的財富。

貪財的法利賽人聽見這些話，就嗤笑耶穌。

耶穌對他們說：“孩子們，打到魚沒有？”他們回答：“沒有。”

門徒聽見了，十分驚奇，就問他：“這樣，誰可以得救呢？”

就對他們講了一個比喻，說：“有一個富翁的田地豐收。他自己心裡說：‘怎麼辦呢？因為我沒有足夠的地方收藏出產了！’又說：‘我要這樣辦：我要拆掉這些倉房，建造更大的，好在那裡收藏我的一切糧食和貨物。然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂啊，你擁有許多好東西，足夠多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！’神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今天晚上，你的靈魂必被取去，你所預備的要歸給誰呢？’凡為自己積財，在神面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。”

在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀也不能救他們，全地都要被他的妒火吞滅；因為他要徹底毀滅地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毀滅。

孩子們，你們是屬於神的，並且已經勝過他們，因為那在你們裡面的比那在世上的更大。

聽見的人說：“這樣，誰可以得救呢？”耶穌說：“人所不能的，在神卻是可能的。”

不要倚靠藉強暴得來的財物，也不要妄想倚靠搶奪回來的錢財；如果財寶加增，你的心也不要倚靠它。

富翁的財物是他們的堅城；在他們的想像中，有如高牆。

孩子們，你們要保守自己遠離偶像。

耶和華啊！求你用手救我脫離世人，脫離那些只在今生有分的世人。求你用你為他們儲存的充滿他們的肚腹，使他們的兒女都可以飽嘗，他們還有剩餘的留給他們的子孫。

他們倚靠財富，自誇多財。但他們沒有一個能把他的兄弟贖回，或把他的贖價交給神，

我的孩子們，為了你們我再受生產的痛苦，直到基督在你們裡面成形。

我若以黃金為我所信靠的，又對精金說：‘你是我所靠賴的’；我若因為財物豐裕，或因為我多獲財利而歡喜；

他的門徒中，有許多人聽了，就說：“這話很難，誰能接受呢？”
