倚靠財富的，自己必跌倒；義人必興旺如綠葉。

注意！你們這些富足人哪，要為將要臨到你們身上的災難哭泣、號咷。你們的財物腐爛了，你們的衣服被蟲子蛀了。你們的金銀都生銹了；這銹要證明你們的不是，又要像火一樣吞吃你們的肉。你們在這末世只知道積蓄錢財。

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的上帝。

看哪，這就是那不以上帝為保障的人，他只倚靠豐富的財物，在邪惡上堅立自己。

你說：我是富足的，已經發了財，一樣都不缺，卻不知道你是困苦、可憐、貧窮、瞎眼、赤身的。

孩子們！我與你們同在的時候不多了；你們會找我，但我所去的地方，你們不能去。這話我曾對猶太人說過，現在也照樣對你們說。

禍哉！那為本家積蓄不義之財、在高處搭窩、指望得免災禍的人！

你靠自己的智慧聰明得了財寶，把金銀收入庫房；你靠自己的大智慧以貿易增添財寶，又因你的財寶心裏高傲；

你定睛在財富，它就消失，因為它必長翅膀，如鷹向天飛去。

耶和華如此說：「智慧人不要因他的智慧誇口，勇士不要因他的力氣誇口，財主也不要因他的財富誇口；

法利賽人是貪愛錢財的；他們聽見這一切話，就嘲笑耶穌。

耶穌就對他們說：「孩子們！你們有吃的沒有？」他們回答他：「沒有。」

門徒聽見這話，就非常驚奇，說：「這樣，誰能得救呢？」

然後他用比喻對他們說：「有一個財主，田地出產豐富。他自己心裏想：『我的出產沒有地方儲藏，怎麼辦呢？』就說：『我要這麼辦：要把我的倉庫拆了，另蓋更大的，在那裏好儲藏我一切的糧食和財物，然後要對我自己說：你這個人哪，你有許多財物積存，可供多年享用，只管安安逸逸吃喝快樂吧！』上帝卻對他說：『無知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所預備的要歸誰呢？』凡為自己積財，在上帝面前卻不富足的，也是這樣。」

當耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀不能救自己；耶和華妒忌的火必燒滅全地，要向地上所有的居民施行可怕的毀滅。

孩子們哪，你們是屬上帝的，並且勝過了假先知，因為那在你們裏面的比那在世界上的更大。

聽見的人說：「這樣，誰能得救呢？」耶穌說：「在人所不能的事，在上帝都能。」

不要仗勢欺人，也不要因搶奪而驕傲；若財寶加增，不要放在心上。

有錢人的財物是他堅固的城，在他幻想中，猶如高牆。

孩子們哪，你們要遠避偶像。

耶和華啊，求你用手救我脫離世人，脫離那只在今生有福分的世人！你以財寶充滿他們的肚腹，他們因有兒女就滿足，將其餘的財物留給他們的孩子。

他們那些倚靠財貨，自誇錢財多的人，沒有一個能贖自己的弟兄，能將贖價給上帝，

我的孩子們哪，我為你們再受生產之苦，直等到基督成形在你們心裏。

「我若以黃金為我的指望，對純金說：你是我的倚靠；我若因財物豐裕，因手多得資財而歡喜；

他的門徒中有好些人聽見了，就說：「這話很難，誰聽得進呢？」
