耶穌曰、以爾心頑、故書斯命予爾、

耶穌曰、摩西以爾心忍、故有此命、

耶穌曰：『摩西以爾心如鐵石、故為爾書此誡命、非得已也。

“ It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.

“ You were stubborn. That’s why Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.

And Jesus said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment.

但是我们的列祖狂妄自大，硬着颈项，不听从你的命令。他们拒绝听从，也不记念你在他们中间所行的奇事，硬着颈项，存心悖逆，自立首领，要回到他们为奴之地去。但你是乐意饶恕的神，你有恩典，有怜悯，不轻易发怒，并有丰盛的慈爱，所以你没有撇弃他们。

“你们颈项刚硬、心和耳都未受割礼的人哪！你们时常抗拒圣灵，你们的祖先怎样，你们也怎样。

“可是他们竟悖逆，背叛你，把你的律法丢在背后，杀害那些控告他们，要他们归向你的先知，犯了亵渎的大罪。

他说：“摩西因为你们的心硬，才准许你们休妻，但起初并不是这样。

所以，就像圣灵所说的：“如果你们今天听从他的声音，就不要硬着心，好像在旷野惹他发怒、试探他的日子一样；在那里，你们的祖先以试验来试探我，观看我的作为有四十年之久。所以，我向那个世代的人发怒，说：‘他们心里常常迷误，不认识我的道路。’

因为我知道你们的悖逆和顽固。看哪，我今日还活着与你们同在的时候，你们尚且悖逆耶和华，何况我死了以后呢？

你要知道，耶和华你的神把这美地赐给你作产业，并不是因着你的义；你本来是顽固的民族。
