And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.But seeing the man who was healed standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.But when they had commanded them to leave the council, they conferred with one another,saying,“ What shall we do with these men? For that a notable sign has been performed through them is evident to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.”So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John answered them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge,for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people, for all were praising God for what had happened.For the man on whom this sign of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”But the Lord said to me,“ Do not say,‘ I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king,“ O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

“ The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me; his word is on my tongue.

But Moses said to the Lord,“ Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.”Then the Lord said to him,“ Who has made man’s mouth? And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues,

The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him.

But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
