When they came near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

The disciples came, and said to him,“ Why do you speak to them in parables?”

Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.Jesus said to them,“ Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.

After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying,“ Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”

One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him,“ We have found the Messiah!”( which is, being interpreted, Christ).

Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying,“ Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”

After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and brought them up onto a high mountain privately by themselves, and he was changed into another form in front of them.

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be greatly troubled and distressed.
