His blood will be on him; whereas if he had heeded the warning, he would have delivered his soul.But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes, and takes any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’“ So you, son of man: I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and give them warnings from me.When I tell the wicked,‘ O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at your hand.Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

Be like men watching for their lord, when he returns from the wedding feast; that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.Blessed are those servants, whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so.But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into.Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

Because you have not given him warning, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous not sin, and he does not sin, he will surely live, because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.”

If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.If they were all one member, where would the body be?But now they are many members, but one body.The eye can’t tell the hand,“ I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet,“ I have no need for you.”No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.

“ To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write:“ He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:

He said therefore,“ A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them,‘ Conduct business until I come.’But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying,‘ We don’t want this man to reign over us.’“ When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.The first came before him, saying,‘ Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’“ He said to him,‘ Well done, you good servant! Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed, and each as the Lord gave to him?I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building.According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it.

Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.
