For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but it is the sin that lives in me.So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me.For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God’s law.But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body?I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.

But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Therefore be alert, since you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.

When He reached the place, He told them,“ Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

“ Why are you sleeping?” He asked them.“ Get up and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation.”

Be alert and strengthen what remains, which is about to die, for I have not found your works complete before My God.Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. But if you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you have no idea at what hour I will come against you.

Then He said to them,“ My soul is swallowed up in sorrow— to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake.”

Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.

And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Because you have kept My command to endure, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is going to come over the whole world to test those who live on the earth.
