Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

What is seed scattered on a path like? The message is planted. The people hear the message. Then Satan comes. He takes away the message that was planted in them.

And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.

The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, only to have Satan come at once and take it away.

客同聲辭謝；首曰：「予置一地、必須往視、請辭。」次曰：「予購十牛、須往試之、請辭。」

因此、吾人允宜以非常之毅力、恪守所聞、始終不渝。

播時、其種有落道旁者、飛鳥至而啄之；

伯鐸祿曰：『亞拿尼亞爾何沙殫蒙心、私藏所得、以欺聖神乎？

惟大憝之暴興也、亦必恃沙殫之魔力、恣權行異、

於是惑眾之妖魔乃被投入硫火池中、與獸及偽先知朝暮受刑、永世靡已。

千秋之期既滿、沙殫又將被釋出獄、

執龍而縛之。龍者、即古昔之蛇、亦名妖魔沙殫。至是縛之千載、投之深壑、封而緘之、使於千載之內無得迷惑萬國、後當暫釋。

僅為宗教上之爭執、實非予所逆料也。不過葆樂肯定有一耶穌、死而復生而已。此等事予實不知如何訊究、故予詢彼願往耶路撒冷聽審否、

更有以彼古羅及斯多亞派哲學家數人起而與之詰辯。或曰：『此喋喋者、果欲何言？』或曰：『似宣傳異邦之鬼神者。』以葆樂言必稱耶穌及其復活、故云。眾引葆樂至亞略巴古書院、曰：『所講新道、可得聞乎？蓋爾所傳者、在吾人耳中、實屬異聞、頗欲一明其旨。』

於是巨龍下墜；巨龍者、即古時、之蛇、名曰妖魔、沙殫、熒惑全世者是；彼與其天神、俱被逐至地。

莫使有一淫邪或不道之人如伊梢者、以貪一飯之微、而拋擲其固有之嗣業。

眾聞復活之說、有譏之者；或曰：『容待再聞。』

葆樂方欲啟齒、迦流謂猶太人曰：『猶太人乎、所控之事、苟屬犯罪作惡、吾尚可容忍於爾、茲所爭者、僅係理論名詞及爾禮法之辯、爾宜自處、吾則無意予以受理。』盡逐之出；眾於公庭之前、執司會所提尼而毆之；迦流亦漠然置之。

耶穌曰：『沙殫、去無留！經云：「爾主天主、汝所宜欽、翼翼奉事、無貳爾心。」』

退而共議、僉曰：『是人實無應死或被囚之罪。』亞基帕又語非斯都曰：『苟是人未上訴於凱撒、本可開釋矣。』
