耶穌離開群眾，進到屋裡，門徒前來問他：“請你給我們解釋田裡稗子的比喻。”他回答：“那撒好種子的是人子，田就是世界，好種子就是屬天國的人，稗子就是屬那惡者的人，撒稗子的仇敵是魔鬼，收割的時候是這世代的終結，收割的工人是天使。稗子怎樣被拔掉用火焚燒，在這世代終結的時候，也是一樣。那時，人子要差派他的使者，把一切使人犯罪的事和不法之徒，從他的國中拔掉，丟進火爐，在那裡必要哀哭切齒。那時，義人在他們父的國中，要像太陽一樣的照耀。有耳的，就應當聽。

於是他從摩西和眾先知起，把所有關於自己的經文，都給他們解釋明白了。

耶穌獨自一人的時候，那些經常跟著他的人和十二門徒，來問這些比喻的意義。

主對他們說：“這就是我從前與你們同在的時候，對你們說過的話：摩西的律法、先知書和詩篇上所記關於我的一切事，都必定應驗。”於是他開他們的心竅，使他們明白聖經；又說：“經上這樣記著：基督必須受害，第三天從死人中復活。

耶穌離開群眾，進了屋子，門徒就來問他這比喻的意思。他對他們說：“連你們也是這樣不明白嗎？難道不知道從外面進去的，不能使人污穢嗎？因為不是進到他的心，而是進到他的肚腹，再排泄到外面（“外面”或譯：“廁所”）去。”（他這樣說是表示各樣食物都是潔淨的。）接著他又說：“從人裡面出來的，才會使人污穢。因為從裡面，就是從人的心裡，發出惡念、淫亂、偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、貪心、邪惡、詭詐、放蕩、嫉妒、毀謗、驕傲、愚妄；這一切惡事，是從人裡面出來的，都能使人污穢。”

門徒問他這比喻是甚麼意思。他說：“神的國的奧祕，只給你們知道，對別人就用比喻，叫他們看卻看不見，聽卻聽不明白。
