If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy,if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation.

Why, O Lord, do you stand far away? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor; let them be caught in the schemes that they have devised.

But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.”“ Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.

Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion are held back from me.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?

Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
